Guy here.A lot of guys don't wear tall boots because they seem "girly" but they're really just utilitarian pieces of footwear that also do a fine job of looking good. I've seen girls wearing these all the time, and after I got my sneakers wet in the winter too many times I decided it was time to get something practical for the winter. And the spring. And the fall. Although Hunter does make boots for guys, I much prefer the shiny gloss look. So now I own a brand-new, shining pair of these boots. They're fantastic. My feet are just shy of 10 inches (25 cm exactly). Women's US size 9 fits way too perfectly, although there is some wiggle room for my toes. Upon first trying them out, I couldn't get my pants into them. I also bought boot socks, which I didn't even attempt to wear inside the boot on the first day. So I just wore plain regular socks and tucked my pants in as well as I could. My legs were kind of cold walking around, but overall the boots were great at keeping the elements out of socks and preventing my toes from freezing; my feet though were pretty warm, with just plain socks. At the end of the day, they can be easily cleaned with a soaked paper towel. Taking them off required the strength of both arms, though, which is probably the only downside to these boots. Wearing them and walking in them isn't a hassle at all; they're not bulky and the weight is evenly distributed so it doesn't feel like you're dragging your feet, unlike some heavy snow boots or work boots. The "fresh rubber" smell was also pretty striking but it'll probably go away and be replaced with the smell of my own feet after I've worn the boots enough. On the second day I wore them, I think I had "broken in" the boots enough. I was able to tuck my pants into the boot socks, and then tuck that into the boot itself. The fit is really snug; borderline tight for some people. I don't mind, as I prefer a snug fit to keep my pants and feet from getting wet and cold. Of course, taking them off is a hassle, so I really only take them off before I decide to settle for the day; not that it matters, since it just feels great to wear them anyway.Overall, I would highly recommend these for rain and snow. The boot fits true to size, and if you measure your feet you won't go wrong. If you want a tight, snug fit, go for the size you are (half-sizes I would recommend going up); if not go a size up, as it'll also help when you go to take the boots off with that extra wiggle room. I recommend actually measuring your feet and then looking at the size chart so you know about exactly what women's size you are (if you're a guy who's reading this, but girls would probably find this helpful as well), and then ordering the closest size, rounding up. So, if you're a guy who's reading this, don't be afraid to pick up a nice pair of these Hunter boots. It's practical, and perfect for any kind of sub-par weather you happen to find yourself in.TL;DR+Great for any kind of weather+Even better with socks+Sizing is almost to a T (for whole sizes, at least)+Comes in all the guy's colors PLUS more (like blue, since that's a lot of people's favorite colors)+Slip-on, snug fit+No zipper means no chances of leaking-Rubber smell might offend your nose (rub with white vinegar on a towel if you want to get rid of it quick; otherwise, keep in a well-ventilated area to rid the smell)-Hard to take off, since there's no zipper or anythingAbout authenticity: I've read some reviews about fake Hunter boots prior to purchasing them. Here's some advice:1. Only buy if it has Prime shipping. This means that the seller is probably legit, since they're backed by Amazon.2. Check the boots themselves. Real boots should have "Hunter" etched on the metal buckles. Try tracing your fingertipalong the metal if you can't see. There should also be a colored stamp on the heel with a balance. Some of the productpictures are outdated, since earlier models don't have them, but newer ones will have the stamp on the heel (see pictures).Obviously, also check to make sure that the iconic Hunter logo is on the top front of the boot.I hope guys and girls alike will find this helpful.Love these boots! I've been on the fence about getting a pair of Hunter boots for a couple of years now due to price. I finally decided to purchase a pair after weeks of obsessing over which color and size to get. I didn't have access to see or try on any in person, so I poured over reviews to help make my decision. My normal shoe size is 8.5. When having to purchase in whole sizes only, it always varies for me, so after reading a bazillion reviews, I ordered a size 8. It only took 2 days for me to receive the boots, even though they shipped from the UK. Yay! I ordered on a Wednesday and they were on my front porch that Friday. Immediately opened them up and stuck my foot in...and panicked. It felt like my toe was touching the inside tip of the boot...I feared they were too small. After taking a deep breath and putting the other one on, I walked around my kitchen for a minute. They actually felt great! They are a snug fit, but I know a size 9 would have been huge. These are rubber boots, and I don't want to feel like I'm walking around in clown shoes. I've worn them twice now, both times all day. No issues. My toes don't rub inside the boot like I feared, the snug fit is actually a blessing. I did also wear regular socks with them. They look great and I've gotten tons of compliments already. LOVE THESE BOOTS!!!!I will say that if your calf is normal to large, you need to get the wide calf boots with the adjustable top. I have normal to small legs, and noticed in a lot of the reviews there were negative comments about the calf part fitting too tight. I really didn't pay much attention to it. These boots fit me like a glove, and I can maybe wear a pair of thicker socks with them over skinny jeans or leggings, but it will be tight. And I have very small legs!! I've never had an issue in the calf area with any boot, but this is a snug fit for me. This never, ever happens, so if your calf area isn't small, these probably won't fit. They are also a tight fit around the ankle area, and take a minute to get on and off. Believe the reviews on this, they fit SNUG. But for me this is a good thing and really makes the boots look great on...not sloppy and flopping around everywhere but instead a more tailored look. I got them in the navy gloss and highly recommend! These rain boots are great. I bought ones on black and now in blue. I love being able to wear them in the rain or sleet. I like I can add socks to increase the warmth as needed. I normally wear a size 9 1/2 in a regular shoe. So I was concerned whether to buy a 9 or a 10? I initially tried the 10, but it seemed too wide and too large. So I returned and purchased the size 9. I LOVE LOVE LOVE these boots in navy. The size 9 fits well. I do not like my toes to touch the inside of the shoe and these do not. I also like the clip to size the width of the leg to be on the side. The width is just right. I am 5’8 and weigh 155 pounds, so I am not heavy, but also not super slim.I also was concerned these boots when wet, might become slippery on the bottom. These boots do not do this. Another issue, I was concerned about was would these boots become rigid with the colder temps? I have had other rubberized shoes which become rigid and cold with below freezing temperatures. These boots do not become rigid and they are able to keep the freezing temperature radiating to my feet. When my feet get cold, it makes my entire body cold. These boats, somehow do not allow the cold to radiate to my feet.I would recommend this product to friends. The price on Amazon is a great deal. Also I have purchased other rain boots from other manufacturers. Sadly my feet are uncomfortable in these rain boots and my feet get cold.I love how durable these boots are, but they can feel heavy at times. Also recommend sizing up, because fuzzy socks are a must if you want to avoid cold feet in the winter, and the calf area isn't too forgiving. Love them nonetheless!Don't know if they would have lasted or not as they have only been tried on at home and found them very uncomfortable and difficult to get on and a nightmare to get off.I don't think I have particularly wide calves (15" on the widest part) and these boots are very tight around the ankle and the top part. The rest was fine. Hunter size 6 fitted my Clarks size 6 well with few room on the front and heel areas but my little toe would have got rubbed.I tried them with different trousers' thickness and also with thin and thick socks. With Hunter socks and skinny jeans I barely could get my foot on and the boot got creased.Another thing I noticed is that they are very cold so not suitable for icy feet like mine without, maybe, fleece socks. They are made in China so this could be the reason of this weird fitting. I have read some reviews that the ones made in Scotland are much better in all aspects. I will try to find them then!I now see why people spend more money on good wellingtons! I have worn all sorts of cheaper brands and because I walk daily with the dogs in forests and fields, and suffer from loads of feet problems, I decided to invest in a pair of Hunters. Seriously, I wanted to walk all day! The difference is amazing. They are so comfortable, I am not straining my ankles like I was with the cheaper boots and I never even knew I was straining them until I wore these. They make a huge difference and are worth the price; your feet are worth looking after. They look good too! I bought the mens for my husband too and he is so delighted! These boots are so comfortable, I've used them so much already.I have wide feet and I was concerned they may be too narrow but although slightly large, which is great as it allows for thicker socks, they are perfect.I love the fact they are more fitted too.In the snow with one pair of socks on a long walk with the dog, I did feel the cold through the boot eventually, but, they are not meant to be a walking boot or snow boot and, I should have worn thicker socksVery happy with the product , worth the extra money for comfort.Very dirty already after the bad weather.but wash so well. Not the best. Lasted 8 months. My £10 Tesco wellies lasted for 2 years. Madness.Couldn't be happier with these boots! I was so chuffed to get them at the price I did. They are true to size and have come in so handy for the walking the dog in all kinds of weathers. I would say thicker socks are needed as they tend to keep the cold in, so not too great in Winter but they have lasted well and they are easy to clean and I am sure they will last for years to come.
